Arrival and departure

At what time can I check in?

Our check-in-time starts every day from 2:00 PM. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with us and start exploring the surroundings. Alternatively, you can relax in our cozy lobby and enjoy a coffee. But please, don’t fall asleep!

Can we store our luggage after check-out?

Of course you can always use our luggage storage (free of charge); either in the lobby storage cages or for larger groups in the basement.

How can I pay?

Payments are cashless. We accept Mastercard, VISA, American Express and Apple Pay.

I'm arriving in the middle of the night, is that a problem?

Our team is available for you at any time. Whether it's 3:00 PM or 3:00 AM, your room will be ready for you. If you're arriving the next morning, please let us know in advance so that your booking isn't canceled.

And by when do I need to check out?

Our regular check-out time is during the week until 10:00 AM and on weekends until 11:00 AM. For party animals and night owls, we offer the option of Late Check-Out depending on availability, which extends the check-out time until 1:00PM.

Can I park my car with you?

We have parking spaces in our courtyard. We recommend reserving a parking space in advance.

A parking space costs 10 € per night.

Food & Drinks

Are there fixed breakfast times?

In general, the breakfast buffet is available daily from 7 to 10 AM (from 8 to 11 AM on weekends). For larger groups, we usually arrange specific times to prevent longer waiting times at the buffet. You're welcome to let us know your preferred times before arrival.

What's the offering like for vegetarians, vegans, and guests with allergies?

Please let us know in advance if there are any dietary restrictions or preferences within your group. We can provide a diverse range of options for vegetarians, vegans, as well as guests with gluten and lactose intolerances. For other, especially severe allergies, we can't guarantee offerings. In such cases, please make sure to contact us beforehand.

Do you have a bar?

Yes, we have an on-site bar that offers you longdrinks, beer, and regular bar specials on special occasions. Payment is cashless.

At the reception, you can also get cold soft drinks,beer, coffee, and much more at any time.

How can I pay?

Payments are cashless. We accept Mastercard, VISA, American Express and Apple Pay.

Rooms & Facilities

Do I have to bring my own bed linen and towels?

If you need bed linen or towels, you can rent them at the reception. Bed linen costs €2.20 per person and a towel costs €1.50.

Just let us know at check-in if you need them. Alternatively, you can bring both yourself.

Are the hostel and rooms wheelchair accessible?

The common rooms at the Industriepalast Hostel are all fully wheelchair accessible, and we also have some barrier-free rooms as well as appropriate toilets and showers in the building. Please discuss any needs with us in advance so that we can reserve the appropriate rooms for you.

Where can I stow my valuables?

In all our rooms there is a locker for each guest to lock up their personal belongings. You can either bring the padlock for the locker yourself or purchased it for 5€ at our reception.

Is there a separate shower and toilet?

Each single and double room has its own bathroom with shower and toilet. The same applies to the triple and quadruple rooms. Our multi-bed rooms have either a bathroom on the floor or a own bathroom. Our lobby and breakfast room are also equipped with toilets.

Are the rooms air conditioned?

Our red brick building brings a lot of history with it. Installing air conditioning would damage our beautiful listed facade, which is why we decided against it with a heavy heart.

Our house is a classic Berlin old building, distinguished by high ceilings and large windows. The room temperature is mostly balanced. So that you don't freeze in winter, all rooms are equipped with heaters.

How can I pay?

Payments are cashless. We accept Mastercard, VISA, American Express and Apple Pay.

Is the hostel safe?

The safety of our guests is very important to us. All rooms are secured with modern electronic door locks, lockers are available in the shared rooms and in the lobby, and trained staff are on the premises all night.

How many keys per room do we get?

Each guest receives their own electronic key card for their own room. This key card is also required for the entrance door after 10 pm. If the card is lost, a small fee will be charged.

Do I have to bring my hairdryer?

Leave the hairdryer at home. You can borrow various items such as a hairdryer, straightener, iron and ironing board free of charge at our reception - 24 hours a day.

Additional information for groups

How does the check-in process work?

Upon arrival, an experienced representative will welcome you and assist in filling out the necessary check-in documents. Following this, there will be a brief introduction to the group, where you'll receive all the important information about your stay. Afterwards, you can comfortably settle into your rooms.

If you've already sorted out room arrangement and breakfast timings beforehand, the entire check-in process for groups usually takes around 20 minutes.

Who decides on the room arrangement?

Feel free to ask us about the specific rooms that have been booked for you one to two weeks before your arrival. The distribution of group members into the booked rooms is determined by you. If you have the final room allocation ready at check-in, you can save a lot of time.

Are there bus parking lots in front of the hostel building?

For larger coaches there are parking spaces available at the Mercedes-Benz Arena (Tamara-Danz-Str.), which is about a 5-minute walk from the hostel. However, during arrival and departure, most coaches can stop for boarding and disembarking directly in front of our entrance without issues.

Do we need to clean the rooms ourselves?

No, our professional cleaning team takes care of that. We simply ask that all group members remove the bed linen themselves up on departure. Of course, we expect the rooms to be returned to us in a generally orderly condition. In cases of particularly heavy or deliberate soiling and damage, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.

What about lunch and dinner?

For extended exploration of the capital city, you can get a hearty packed lunch from us. We also offer dinner with a three-course menu at a favorable group rate for groups of 20 or more. During the warmer months, a barbecue evening organized by us on the terrace and courtyard is also an option.

Important note: Lunch packages must be ordered at least 48 hours in advance, and dinner should be ordered two weeks before arrival.

Do groups need to bring their own bed linen and towels?

For larger groups, we provide the bed linen as a standard. Towels can be rented from us for a small fee.

Are there specific facilities for groups?

In addition to the courtyard with a ping pong table and the cozy lobby with football, pool table, book exchange shelf, and bar, there's a large group room in the basement. This room has a ping pong table, a giant foosball table, darts, plenty of seating, and a music system for a fun evening.

Moreover, there's a modern seminar room with an industrial design – a fully equipped classroom with a projector, whiteboard, flipchart, and movable tables. If you'd like to reserve any of the group rooms, feel free to let us know in advance.

Cancellation

I'm afraid I cannot arrive after all; can I cancel my booking free of charge?

We understand that sometimes circumstances are unforeseeable. Whether and how you can cancel your booking depends on where you made the reservation.

Booking directly through us:

On our website, we offer two booking options: Standard bookings and non-refundable bookings.

Non-refundable bookings are slightly cheaper and are paid in advance by credit card. As the name suggests, the amount paid cannot be refunded in case of cancellation and the booking cannot be changed.

Standard bookings can be cancelled and modified free of charge up to one day before the arrival date (by 2:00 PM at the latest). Cancellations or modifications must be made in writing via email or through the contact form.

Booking through a booking agent:

If you booked through a booking platform such as Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, or HostelWorld, you must also cancel through that platform. The cancellation conditions of the respective platform apply. The same applies if you wish to modify your booking.
